LOVE MOLLIE

Meet Mollie

Mollie is the Blue Heeler with the cookies + cream coat!

You may have had a pet in your life that felt like part of the family...

Mollie was a blessing in my life for 7 awesome adventure filled years.

I wrote a children's book about her and the heart healing journey that God took us on.

She recently went home to be with Jesus, but her legacy will live on through the pages of her book.

Watch this short video to learn more about her story...

Another chance at life

Love Mollie is children's book about a dog that went from foster home to foster home before she found her forever home. Her heart was sick with deadly heart worms and wounded from neglect and abuse. She was rescued from a kill shelter by a rescue nonprofit, adopted, given a new name and another chance at life.

This day meant new hope and a second chance at life

Another chance at love

This story is not only about a dog with a wounded heart. It's also about a little girl who learns to see past the pain of others and break through her own walls from hurt and rejection. With love and trust, the walls that block intimacy start to soften and crumble. The unconditional love of Jesus is weaved into the story as we see how He pursued her heart and waited patiently for her to receive His love.

The Book Mission
My hope and prayer is that this book will help all parents, not only those with foster and adopted children. It will be a tool to bring them into a story to open conversations and hearts so that love can break through even when it’s difficult.

Thank you for making this book a reality!

The Day I Met Mollie

My life changed forever when I met my Mollie on October 7, 2015. I worked at Fossil Group in Richardson, TX in the Human Resources department as a Recruiter for the Creative and Marketing teams and in-house Photography Studio.

We had such a fun culture and I loved my team because we were all friends and felt more like family than coworkers. Our boss planned a team bonding day at the State Fair of Texas one beautiful October day. We played games, ate fried food, meat on a stick, and rode rides. I remember we had some upset tummy's so it wasn't a good idea to do it in that order!

After walking around for a bit, one of my coworkers who had 3 rescue Husky's asked if I wanted to join her to go see the pups in the DFW Rescue Me booth. I had no idea what I was getting myself into!

I wasn't even thinking about thinking about getting a dog, but God had another plan! There were so many dogs barking and jumping vying for attention, but I stopped in my tracks when I reached the very last cage where "Maddie" sat in a stoic position gazing into the distance completely shut off from the world. I immediately felt a nudge in my spirit that I couldn't deny and inquired about her. Despite the booth representative repeatedly discouraging me that this wasn't the one I wanted, I insisted to see her in the private kennel out back.

He went on to tell me that she was sick with heart worms and might die and that she would be heading to a foster home soon since she was shutting down and not doing well in that environment. He finally agreed to get her out and put her in the long spacious kennel in the back so I could interact with her. It was probably about 20 feet long and 5 feet wide. Well, she went to the furthest corner from the gate and sat and faced the wall! It was like she put herself in time out, but I assumed that she just wasn't in a social mood.

I went ahead and completed the application and he told me they would be in touch in a few days to start the process to ensure I was a suitable owner for adoption. He also explained the treatments that she would need to fight the heart worms in detail. It would require 2 injections 3 months apart and the needles were 6 inches long! For the first six months, I would need to keep her on a short leash and couldn't let her run - not even once. I began to doubt whether I was ready for a dog and came up with so many excuses why I should back out of the adoption process. I went back and forth as I discussed the decision with my friends and coworkers. Regardless of how many times I tried to talk myself out of it, I couldn't shake that this was supposed to be my dog.

A week would go by before they finally called to set the date for her to come to my apartment. I was having commitment issues, but each step along the way, I said yes.
